Four hundred and fifty kilogrammes of rubbish were collected in the Fifth Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan’s Beach Cleaning Project held on September 19 at Meragang Beach.

Participating in the one-day event were members of Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan, their family members and friends.

According to Organisational Chair and Past President Klaus Tomalla, “The beaches are getting cleaner because of many projects from different organisations. We from the Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan are proud to be part of it and to contribute to a clean environment in this beautiful country.”

President Clement Yong said, “The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan is committed to a clean environment in Brunei and therefore at least four projects of this kind will be organised during the year. It is important to create awareness and that other organisations do the same. Only then, we can assure a green and clean environment”.

After the rubbish has been collected and carried away by Kawan Bumi Sdn Bhd, club members and friends viewed the sunset, played beach football and had a barbeque at beach.
