25 teams compete in virtual team challenge

A total of 25 teams are participating in the Sayyidina Othman Secondary School’s Virtual Team Challenge 2020 (SVTC 2020), which started with a five-kilometre run at the Sungai Basong Recreational Park yesterday.

The kick-off event was officiated by the school’s Principal Roziena binti Haji Zini.

The SVTC 2020, open to teachers and administrative staff of the school, will require participants to cover 100km through outdoor running, hiking or indoor running. Each team must have three people comprising active, reasonably active and newbie members. Participants are allowed to use mobile apps such as Strave, Run Tracker and May My Run, or smartwatch with GPS like Garmin, Polar, etc.

Data collected from a treadmill screen is not allowed.

SVTC 2020 aims to inculcate teamwork and sporting spirits while encouraging healthy lifestyle among the school citizens.

It is the first ever event organised by the school’s Health and Welfare Body through its Co-Curricular Activities team. The race will end on October 10.
