Workshop helps businesses go online

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) organised a series of ecommerce workshops yesterday.

The first series began with a ‘Women and ecommerce’ workshop for a group of local women entrepreneurs. The two-day workshop, which started on Monday, aimed to provide participants with online business opportunities through ecommerce that would lead to the expansion of their market outreach and increased revenue.

The participants were taught basic ecommerce activities including the use of digital applications and commercialisation of products in the online marketplace.

The workshop also included sharing sessions by local ecommerce platform providers and vendor, namely Ta-Pow, Weelago and; an online safety talk by ITPSS Sdn Bhd and briefing on local business support programmes by DARe (Darussalam Enterprise).

It was facilitated by TechOne Solutions Sdn Bhd and supported by the Community Development Department (JAPEM) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The programme will be extended to a group of entrepreneurs from the Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) and members of village consultative councils (MPK) throughout the nation.
