UNISSA new intake embarks on community services

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) conducted several community service activities in conjunction with its Ta’aruf Week (orientation week) to raise awareness among new student intake on youth’s role in contributing to community services.

Over 300 students participated in the activities conducted by 63 UNISSA committee members, carried out in the Belait, Tutong and Brunei-Muara districts.

Activities were held at the Kuala Belait Beach, Seri Kenangan Beach, UNISSA dormitory, Meragang Beach, Ameen Farm in Kampong Kilanas, Muara and Serasa beaches, Ranggas and Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Muslim cemeteries.

Aside from cleaning activities, the students also held Tahlil and Doa Arwah recitation at the cemeteries. The activities began with a Doa Selamat.

The event aimed to motivate students to become more proactive, concerned about the community and surroundings.
