Three embrace Islamic faith

The Islamic Da’wah Centre, Belait District Branch held two conversion ceremonies yesterday.

The first ceremony was held for Aliffi bin Rosman, 27, who embraced the Islamic faith and took the name Muhammad Azka @ Aliffi bin Abdullah.

This was overseen by Ustaz Muhammad Rushdi bin Abdullah, a religious instructor at the centre. Assistant Head of the Belait District Dakwah Unit Ustazah Hajah Salimah binti Haji Hassan presented a gift to Muhammad Azka to commemorate the occasion.

In a similar ceremony, a mother and son, Saidah anak Tinting, 66, and Denny Yapp, 40, embraced the Islamic faith overseen by Ustaz Muhammad Nur Aisamuddin bin Muhammad Hanafi, a religious instructor at the centre, and Ustazah Hajah Salimah.

The ceremony then continued with the presentation of gifts to the new converts by Head of Belait District Dakwah Unit Ustazah Zikrinaidah binti Haji Mat Dikir before concluding with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Ustaz Abdul Khaliq bin Kamree.

Ustazah Hajah Salimah also presented gifts to the converts.

With the latest number of newly converted embracing the Islamic faith, the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Belait District Branch has recorded 36 individuals embracing the faith so far this year.

Sixty-four individuals converted to Islam last year.
