Stranded Indian nationals head home

The High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam in cooperation with Indian associations in Brunei Darussalam organised the repatriation of 131 Indian nationals from Brunei to Coimbatore on Friday.

The associations include the Indian Association of Belait (IAB), Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA) and Malayali Association (MA).

The Indian nationals included those who had completed their contracts, been laid off and those who were on short visits and medical cases.

High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Ajaneesh Kumar and members of the Indian High Commission were at hand to send off the stranded nationals.

The special flight, operated by Royal Brunei Airlines (RB), was the second chartered flight arranged by the Indian High Commission to repatriate stranded nationals from Brunei Darussalam to India. The first chartered flight with 139 passengers left on July 3.
