Russia’s COVID-19 cases up 4,941

MOSCOW (XINHUA) – Russia registered 4,941 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its national caseload to 985,346, the country’s COVID-19 response centre said in a statement yesterday.

Meanwhile, 111 new deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 17,025.

Moscow, the country’s worst-hit region, reported 677 new cases, bringing its tally of infections to 261,038, the response centre said.

According to the statement, 804,383 patients have recovered from COVID-19 so far, including 5,917 over the past day.

As of Friday, 210,662 people were still under medical observation, while over 36 million tests have been conducted across the country.
