Prayers held for motorists’ safety

The Brunei National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) held a Sunnat Hajat and Asar prayers and recitation of Ratib Al-Attas at the Surau of the Brunei International Airport in Berakas yesterday.

The event was held to pray for Allah the Almighty’s protection of the country and safety of road users, as well as to seek His blessing for MKKJR’s plans and efforts in road safety improvements.

Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Seretaries, members of MKKJR as well as Head of MKKJR Secretariat, officers and staff members of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and other authorities attended.

Brunei International Airport Surau Imam Pengiran Haji Mohd Ismail bin Pengiran Haji Tuah led the Sunnat Hajat and Asar prayers and recitation of Ratib Al-Attas.

The event was held by observing the COVID-19 safety measures in line with the advice and guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.

MKKJR called on road users to always start their journey with prayers, to be fully attentive while driving, to buckle up, to refrain from texting while driving and to adhere to speed limits.
