The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) reiterated the need for congregants to adhere to guidelines when entering mosques, suraus and religious halls according to the fourth phase of de-escalation measures.
The public attending Friday prayers are reminded to wear face masks while inside the mosques as well as bring their prayer mats which should be spaced one foot apart. They should also scan BruHealth QR code when entering mosques.
There will be body temperature check and use of hand sanitiser encouraged.
Failing to comply with this directive is an offense under Infectious Disease Act Chapter 204 in which a person can be fined up to BND5,000 or if convicted in court, can be fined up to BND10,000 or jailed for up to six months or both.
