Islamic Da’wah Centre collaborated with the Sinar Islam Association to hold a Korban ceremony yesterday at the centre for new converts in the Belait District.
The event began with the recitation of Takbir Raya and Doa Selamat, led by instructor at the centre Abdul Khaliq bin Kamree.
Present as the guest of honour was Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) Onshore Maintenance and Integrity Manager Hassanal Sufri bin Haji Hassan who distributed the sacrificial meat to the new converts.
He also donated two buffaloes for the religious event.
In line with the containment phase of the COVID-19 outbreak, the distribution of meat was carried out in a drive-through to ensure social distancing was observed.
Both the Islamic Da’wah Centre and Sinar Islam Association expressed hopes that the religious ceremony has helped to broaden the knowledge of the Muallaf as well strengthen the Islamic faith among the participants.
