Indian cemetery gets a touch of green

Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA) members planted 74 saplings at the Indian community cemetery at Jalan Berakas to mark India’s 74th Independence Day.

Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ajaneesh Kumar, Indian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam officials, Indian Association Executive and Management Committee members and BSBIA members attended.

BSBIA President Ravichandran said the Brunei government has allocated the land to the Indian community for the burial of Indian community members.

Ajaneesh Kumar thanked Ravichandran, General Secretary Murugesan, Vice President Mubarak and BSBIA members for their efforts, and encouraged the association to continue tree planting activities to ensure a greener Brunei.

The event, aimed at supporting national efforts in preserving the environment, was supported by the the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe).
