A Filipino man was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment by the High Court yesterday, for strangling a female compatriot to death, after he pleaded guilty to the charge of culpable homicide on August 4.
Naje Walley Alemania was first charged with murdering his Filipina housemate.
He was then preferred the alternative charge to which he had pleaded guilty, that he had strangled the victim to death. It further stated that the defendant and the victim, who had known each other for nine years, shared a house in Kampong Puni, Temburong District.
