Beach cleaning campaign a roaring success

Some 1,000 kilogrammes of trash were collected by the Belait Lions Club in a beach cleaning campaign held yesterday at the Silver Jubilee Recreational Park in Belait District as part of the organisation’s mission to provide a clean environment for the community.

Thirty-eight members of the club, led by organising chairman Keith Wong, joined in on the campaign.

The club said more similar campaigns are in the pipeline, with the next event being its annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest for students at Chung Ching Middle School, Seria.
