10 join youth development programmes in Tutong

Young Professionals Network Brunei (YPN.BN) organised the first and EmployAbility series at the Tutong Youth Centre recently.

The programmes featuring three mentors, catered to youth from Tutong and Belait districts. The two-hour session saw 10 mentees from both districts.

YPN.BN co-founder Fatin Arifin, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) lecturer Dr Siti Mazidah binti Haji Mohamad and Head of Information Department of Tutong District Branch Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin were mentors of Mentorship WeCan in Tutong.

Dr Siti Mazidah spoke on maximising potential in university studies while Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar was joined by Haji Abdul Afiq from Minda Youth Movement (MYM) who spoke about turning passion into action.

The EmployAbility series was YPN.BN’s response to the demand to more employable youth to reduce the unemployment rate and help achieve Brunei Vision 2035. YPN.BN provided exposure to skills, leadership and better job interview techniques.

Mentorship WeCan is hosted bi-monthly to allow discussion among like-minded individuals. Over the past few months, over 200 individuals from different backgrounds participated in
the programme.
