Weekly press conference amid the new normal?

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Ministry of Health (MoH) for the exhaustive efforts made in keeping us safe.

The daily press conferences were especially timely in keeping us abreast with the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the steps taken to mitigate its spread.

I can’t thank the government enough for the hard work shown and the sacrifices made to protect public health, especially in continuing with the press conference even during Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.

The transparency of the ministry had been very much needed in calming the population in times of uncertainty and fear.

We haven’t had new infection cases in two months, and it’s largely due to the prompt action of the authorities. Thus, it is understandable that the authorities see little need in holding a daily press conference.

However, I do miss the questions-and-answers session as it allows for public concerns to be heard.

We have entered a new normal and a lot of changes have been made to our day-to-days.

I believe a weekly press conference would be a good way to clarify new measures or rules to avoid confusion while ensuring that our voices continue to be heard.
