The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam presented a donation to the Community Development Department (JAPEM)’s Welfare Home Complex, in a ceremony at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) building yesterday.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin received the donation from Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul.

Held to mark the 68th birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand on July 28, the event was also organised in conjunction with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s Royal Initiative Volunteers Project ‘Good Deeds from the Heart’.

Viputwongsakul thanked the MCYS for providing close cooperation and assistance to the Royal Thai Embassy, while assuring the embassy would also extend full support and cooperation to the ministry.

To strengthen individual abilities to meet current and future socio-economic challenges, JAPEM extended cooperation to embassies in Brunei Darussalam, particularly to the Royal Thai Embassy in various occasions, through the Welfare Home Complex.

On May 28, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a blood donation drive at the Blood Donation Centre of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital under the ‘Good Deeds from the Heart’ Project.

In 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted several events under this royal project, such as a charity event at Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, a cleaning campaign and its very first blood donation drive.
