Stealing from mother: Woman’s sentence increased

The High Court substituted a woman’s jail sentence of two years and eight months to three years and four months, after allowing the Public Prosecutor’s appeal on Tuesday. Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong agreed with the Public Prosecutor that the sentence handed by the Magistrate’s Court to Nur Sabihah binti Haji Zulfikri for 15 counts of theft and nine counts of money laundering was “unduly lenient”.
