Over 40 pints of blood were collected in the final of the two-day blood donation campaign at the National Service Programme (PKBN) Training Camp in Batu Apoi, Temburong District yesterday, marking the conclusion of the nationwide drive that resulted in the collection of over 350 pints of blood.

The event was organised by the Youth Volunteers Group in collaboration with the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre.

Vegetable stall operator Rosanah, whose hectic schedule has prevented her from regularly donating blood over the last two years, was elated to learn the campaign was rolling into the district. Like many others, she signed up for the good cause.

Rosanah became an active blood donor after learning from a friend the importance as well as the health benefits of donating blood. Meanwhile, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) student Norazura, who is back in her hometown on semester break, also stepped forward to make a donation. She too is no stranger to bleeding for a good cause, adding that it has always been her desire to actively donate to help save lives. Additionally, she believes in doing so, Allah the Almighty will reward her.

The Youth Volunteers Group extended its gratitude to the sponsor who provided packed sandwiches for the donors.
