Oman envoy thanks students for volunteering at book fair

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday hosted an appreciation event for Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) students for their assistance at the embassy’s booth during the Brunei Book Fair 2020.

The event took place at the embassy’s premises in Kampong Pengkalan Gadong.

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari presented certificates of appreciation to the students for their voluntarily work and cooperation in helping the embassy manning its booth during Brunei Book Fair 2020 on February 28 to March 8.

The ambassador thanked the students for their support and applauded the fruitful cooperation between the embassy, UNISSA and KUPU SB including the launching of Oman publications corner at UNISSA’S and KUPU SB’s libraries.

The embassy has arranged for four batches of Bruneian students from UNISSA and KUPU SB to study Arabic Language for eight weeks at Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers, under a partial sponsorship from the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.

Assistant Rector (Academic Affairs) and Dean of Arabic Language Faculty of UNISSA Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad and Head of Administration and Finance at the Embassy Moosa bin Said bin Mohamed Al Salti were present.

Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador on behalf of the students for providing the opportunity to voluntarily participate in some of the
embassy’s activities.
