New religious school opens its door

A new religious school opened in Kampong Lambak yesterday as part of the initiative to support the vision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in providing quality education towards realising the Brunei Vision 2035.

A key presentation ceremony was held at the new Jalan Bedil Religious School which saw the handing over of a mock key from LCY Development Sdn Bhd to Deputy Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Ar Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin as the project executor who passed it to Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar.

Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammed Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the Ministry of Development (MoD) Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Law) at the MoD Hajah Norhayati binti Haji Mohd Yaakub.

There was also a cutting of the ribbon to officiate the opening of the school by both deputy ministers before a tour of the premises.

The new 18-classroom school can accommodate up to 540 students and teachers.
