Bukit Sum Sum, also known as Bukit Korea, is fast gaining popularity as a hiking spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
Located in Jalan Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah in Kampong Katok, the 2.4km trail attracted several visitors in the past week.
Last Wednesday, concerns were raised after a viral photo showed hikers walking only inches apart, despite the Ministry of Health (MoH)’s requirements for social distancing. One hiker said the narrow trail made it difficulties in that aspect, especially when encountering someone from the opposite direction.
“It’s not very conducive towards physical distancing, but we did try to keep apart from each other,” he said.
“The spot is still new, so everyone wants to have a go at it, just like the Bukit Sipatir craze a while ago. I just hope the number of visitors will lessen, sooner or later.”
