“This will focus on the agriculture and agrifood sector to advance self-sufficiency and sustainability for Brunei Darussalam.”

He said, “I can foresee many projects being initiated in time.

“In fact, the two institutions are eager to work together where some preliminary studies
have already started.”

The MoU aims to expand collaboration and applied scientific research in agriculture technology, farming and agrifood, while the main objective being to enhance agrifood productivity – particularly paddy production – and transform the national agri-business sector towards modernisation and sustainability.

Activities under the MoU include short-term research projects, training courses, long-term field research, work placement for undergraduate and postgraduate students and the sharing of facilities.
