The French Embassy in Brunei Darussalam and the French Bruneian Business Association (FBBA) contributed to Brunei Darussalam’s COVID-19 Relief Fund in-lieu of the French National Day celebrations, as part of their commitment in the fight against the pandemic.

The BND12,000 contribution was collected from FBBA members including Amarco, Baiduri Bank, TOTAL E&P Borneo BV and Sincere Aluminium.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar received the donation from French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Christian Ramage in a ceremony at the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday.

Accompanying Ramage was President of FBBA Nicolas Wawresky and FBBA Secretary-General Tan Cheng Voon.

“It was indeed a privilege to contribute towards the fund,” Amarco CEO Jean Noel Fouquet said in a statement.

Ramage said, “The FBBA is a bilateral business association that prides itself for being an active association in Brunei Darussalam. Together with the French Embassy, the FBBA would like to congratulate Brunei Darussalam’s Government and the MoH for the impressive result achieved in controlling COVID-19.”
