Ministries commemorate royal birthday

The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a Doa Kesyukuran, mass Asar and Sunnat Hajat prayers to mark the 74th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the ministry’s Surau yesterday.

The event was organised by the Budget and National Development Plan Division of MoFE.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour. Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, officers and staff at the ministry were also present.

The religious ceremony began with Sunnat Hajat prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer Mohd Amin bin Haji Salim. It continued with the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran and mass Asar prayer.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Development (MoD) also held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at the ministry’s Surau yesterday.

Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar was present.

The Doa Kesyukuran was read by Assistant Project Office Level I at the Policy Coordination and Strategic Planning Division Mohammad Khairul bin Jackariah.

The ceremony also saw a mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin followed by the reading of Tahlil and Doa Arwah.

Deputy Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Ar Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the MoD Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the MoD Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Law) Hajah Norhayati binti Haji Mohd Yaakub were also present.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) also held a Doa Kesyukuran and Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday.

The religious event was held at the Digadong Hall for male participants and surau for female participants of the MCYS building.

The ceremony was broadcast through speakers within the building and live streamed on social media and online conferencing medium in line with COVID-19 measures.

The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

This was followed by the recitation of Doa Khatam by Haji Abdul Halim bin Mohd Fuad. Muhammad Khaizuran Amali bin Haji Kamsani recited the Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Youth and Sports) at the MCYS Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Saidah binti Haji Wahid @ Burut and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, officers and staff were also present. Youth from National Service Programme (PKBN) and Youth Development Centre also partIcipated in the ceremony.
