Man accused of outraging modesty released on bail

The Magistrate’s Court granted the application of a 32-year-old Indian man accused of forcing a 10-year-old local boy to perform a sexual act on him, to be released on
bail yesterday.

Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid released Mohamad Ibrurahim on bail of BND10,000, or two local sureties, with strict conditions following his lawyers’, Leney Andrew Albert and Wafi Sallehuddin of Messrs Ahmad Isa and Partners, application last weekend. The prosecution objected to the bail application.

The defendant faces a charge of outraging the modesty of the victim at 11am on June 21 in
Kampong Rimba.

The court fixed July 18 for further mention of the case. DPP Nor Hafizah binti Ahmad represented the Public Prosecutor.
