Malaysian jailed for sneaking into Brunei, series of thefts

A Malaysian man who sneaked in through a ‘mouse trail’ when Brunei recorded the first COVID-19 case was sentenced to two years and four months’ jail over charges of shoplifting and illegal entry.

Acting Senior Magistrate Pengiran Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusof presiding over the case last Thursday, heard from DPP Ahmad Firdaus bin Mohammad that Edwin Yan Kok Kim @ Md Yazid bin Abdullah, 44, had been barred from entering Brunei.
