Acting Village Head of Kampong Lambak ‘B’ Azizi Fakhri bin Noor Azalie recently held a briefing on the National Welfare System (SKN), for recipients of the monthly welfare assistance (BKB) and the Zakat Asnaf Fakir Miskin Fund residing in the village.

Apart from instructing them on the online application procedures for BKB and the Asnaf Miskin Fund, the briefing aimed to provide the residents with more knowledge and understanding of SKN.

Azizi said the briefing helped him to personally meet people in need of help and learn about other social issues within the village community.

“This is one way of shouldering my responsibilities as a village head – by being proactive, helpful and approachable to everyone,” he said.

SKN, to be launched on July 15, was announced at a press conference, after His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to the collaboration of the ministries in developing a digitalised National
Welfare System.

The announcement was acclaimed by citizens and residents, as the gesture of a caring monarch towards the welfare and well-being of his subjects.

Once it is launched, the system will facilitate registration for applicants of the BKB managed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Zakat Asnaf Fakir Miskin Fund under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).
