Petronas Carigali Brunei Ltd (PCBL), a Petronas’ subsidiary, has stepped in to do their part to support Brunei’s fight against the spread of the COVID-19 by contributing towards the COVID-19 cause through cash and medical items.
PCBL contributed BND100,000 to the Brunei COVID-19 Relief Fund during a mock cheque presentation on April 9 at the Ministry of Health.
PCBL also contributed 1,000 bottles of hand sanitisers to the Ministry of Education on June 9, which will benefit 153 public schools to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
The company hoped the contributions will help the government’s efforts to reduce the risk of people contracting the virus, said Petronas’ Country Head in Brunei Mohamad Othman.
“Our priority is the health and safety of our employees and the surrounding communities where we operate. We are strictly complying with the Brunei Government’s regulations while working closely with all relevant authorities on the necessary requirements during this period,” he added.
PCBL was established in 2011 to carry out exploration-related activities in Brunei’s deepwater blocks through its Production Sharing Agreements with the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam.
