Indonesia reports 2,381 new COVID-19 cases, 74 new deaths

JAKARTA (XINHUA) – The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 2,381 within one day to 104,432, with the death toll adding by 74 to 4,975, the Health Ministry said yesterday.

The ministry also said 1,599 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 62,138.

The latest number of suspected cases across the country is 57,393.

The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.

Specifically, within the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 577 new cases, East Java 359, Central Java 313, North Sumatra 241, South Sulawesi 128 and South Kalimantan 102.

No more new positive cases were found in five provinces, namely Lampung, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and East Nusa Tenggara.
