Indonesia reports 1,761 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, 89 new deaths

JAKARTA (XINHUA) – The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 1,761 within one day to 95,418, with the death toll adding by 89 to 4,665, the Health Ministry said yesterday.

According to the ministry, 1,781 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 53,945. The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.

Specifically, within the past 24 hours, East Java recorded 496 new cases, Jakarta reported 297 new cases, Central Java 124, West Java 91, South Kalimantan 90 and South Sulawesi 85.

No more new positive cases were found in five provinces, namely Lampung, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.
