Eatery dine-in capacity increased to 80pc, weekly Tamu re-opens from July 9

Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong yesterday shared that all dine-in food premises, open air stalls, weekly tamu or Tamu Mingguan will be facilitated under the third phase of the de-escalation plan.

Dine-in facilities at restaurants, cafes, food courts will be increased to 80 per cent of the normal sitting capacity, while open air stalls that offer dine-in services under the District Offices and Municipal Departments is allowed to operate 100 per cent of the normal sitting capacity from July 6, the minister added.

However, all food premises and operators are advised to comply with the rules and guidelines and continue to practise social and physical distancing.

The minister said that Tamu Mingguan Kompleks Pasarneka and Tamu Tutong under the Tutong Municipal Department will be allowed to resume operations on July 9 with 50 per cent of normal capacity.

Vendors will be put on schedule for their turn to sell their products at the tamu coordinated by the department.

Meanwhile, the Tamuneka Seria located at the parking lot of Pasarneka Seria (operated every Thursday and Friday) and the Tamuneka Kuala Belait located at the parking area of the Pasarneka Kuala Belait (operated every Saturday and Sunday) will be moved to Pasarneka Seria at Jalan Lorong 3 Selatan, Seria.

The relocation meant to comply with the measures and guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Health.

These tamus will start their operation alternately starting on July 9. Group A vendors will operate every Thursday while Group B will have their turn every Saturday.
