Restrictions for dine-in at eateries, weekly tamu at Pasarneka and Tamu Tutong Complex will be lifted from phase three to phase four under the de-escalation plan starting July 27.

Cinemas will be upgraded from phase one to phase two and permission to organise sales expo and bazaar is now allowed.

This was announced by Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong in a press conference yesterday.

The minister said eateries are now allowed to operate in full capacity but buffet services are still not allowed.

Under the second phase of the de-escalation plan for cinemas, the venues can be occupied up to 60 per cent of normal capacity. Cinema operators and visitors still need to ensure social distancing along with measures issued by the government including seating two seats apart. However, those coming from the same family are allowed to sit together.

Only those aged 12 and above are allowed to enter the cinemas. Cinemagoers are required to book and make seating arrangement via online platform or telephone. Moviegoers will now be allowed to eat and drink while watching movies.

The minister also announced that expos and bazaars are now allowed. The organisers will need to follow measures including using BruHealth QR code. Organisers will need to check body temperature of visitors, provide hand sanitisers and ensure crowd control.

Expos and bazaars are only allowed at commercial premises as venues such as conference centres and halls are not permitted. Workers will have to wear face masks, ensure social distancing and the booths be at least three metres apart. The venues need to be clean.

Only those with green and yellow colour code are allowed to enter the expo and bazaar while those with flu-like symptoms are not advised to visit the events. Organisers can submit applications via Onebiz system and for enquiries, contact the Ministry of Home Affairs at 2223225 ext 331 or Darussalam line 123.
