Crime prevention activities conducted

The Sungai Liang Police Station of the Belait Police District through the Neighbourhood Watch Unit recently conducted a visit to discuss Neighbourhood Watch activities with a village head.

Officer-in-Charge of the Sungai Liang Police Station Inspector Haji Mohd Nazmi bin Haji Ismail led the delegation that visited Acting Village Head of Kampong Sungai Liang Haji Mohd Ibrahim bin Datu Maharaja Setia Dian.

Assistant Officer-in-Charge of the Sungai Liang Police Station Inspector Abdul Hadi bin Abdullah Biju along with the station’s personnel were also present.

Meanwhile, the Seria Police Station led by Assistant Officer-in-Charge of the Seria Police Station Probationary Inspector Boniface anak Janlita conducted a crime prevention patrol with members of the STKRJ Kampong Seria Neighbourhood Watch.

The patrol focussed at residential and school areas at Lorong Tiga Seria. No suspicious or law-breaking activities were found.

A similar activity was also conducted by personnel of the Labi Police Station led by the Officer-in-Charge Probationary Inspector Mohammad Janatun Na’em bin Haji Abdul Rahim and members of the Neighbourhood Watch. The group patrolled surrounding areas of government buildings, boat drop-off points and residential areas around Mukim Bukit Sawat.

No suspicious activities were found. The delegation also held a discussion on crime prevention activities and exchanged updates and information with Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat Haji Salleh bin Haji Othman, Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Muhammad bin Abdullah, Chief of the Mendaram Besar Longhouse Beradi anak Jamau and Village Head of Kampong Labi 2 Haji Matussin bin Matzin.

The programme also aimed to strengthen bonds between the RBPF and community, and give opportunities for village residents to discuss issues.
