Childcare centres, centres for differently abled, museums, exhibition galleries and libraries facilities will be able to increase capacity to 60 per cent during the second phase of the de-escalation plan that begins next Monday. All facilities will operated according to the rules and guidelines by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin said these during the press conference at the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) Al-‘Afiah Hall.
The minister said childcare centres and centres for differently abled will have their capacity doubled from 30-60 per cent depending on the space available at the centres.
For childcare centres, only children aged one and above and limited activities (one-on-one) are allowed. However, the permission to allow the centres to operate will be based on inspection by MCYS.
The centres for the differently abled, will only open to those of lower and medium risks only. Lower risk individuals are those with no chronic illness, who can take care of themselves as well as communicate. The medium risk individuals are those with no chronic illness, need assistance and able to communicate. Only indoor activities are permitted.
For museums, exhibition galleries and libraries, the capacity is expanded to 60 per cent with group not exceeding 50 people at one time depending on the space. The facilities will only open for those with no symptoms of flu and fever.
All facilities under the MCYS will operate five days a week for five hours only. Museums, exhibition galleries and libraries under MCYS will only operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
