The Magistrate’s Court on Saturday ordered police to complete investigations on a theft case before prosecutors could pursue it.

However, prosecutors have drafted charges against Romei bin Abdul Rahman of allegedly having stolen underground cables from an open field near Substation 22 on Jalan Binglu Tengah, Kampong Tanah Jambu sometime between January and June.

The allegation states that the defendant committed mischief by causing damage to the underground cables when he cut off about 15 metres from it on the same occasion.

Magistrate Kamaliah Fadhilah binti Haji Ibrahim adjourned the case to July 28 for
further mention.

DPP Ahmad Firdaus bin Mohammad prosecuted the case.
