Brunei Darussalam participated in the online Voluntary National Review sessions during the United Nations (UN) on Sustainable Development last Wednesday.

Preparation for the Voluntary National Review was led by the Special Committee for the Preparation of the Voluntary National Review for Brunei Darussalam. It was co-chaired by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew emphasised the commitment and outlined the country’s achievements in securing the sustainable development goals.

The annual High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development is the main platform for the UN to review the implementation of the UN member countries for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals. The preparation of the Voluntary National Review NBD Report used a whole-of-nation approach, which has also involved the private sector and non-government organisations (NGOs).
