Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) continued its support to ministries and agencies in the fight against COVID-19 with the handover of 200 bottles of hand sanitisers and 2,000 face masks to the Islamic Studies Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman received the contributions from BIBD’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mubashar Khokhar.
The assistance was part of BIBD’s support for government stakeholders, particularly religious schools under the Islamic Studies Department, towards preventing the spread of COVID-19.
As schools nationwide began re-opening as part of the second phase of de-escalation, it is one of the bank’s initiatives to assist the MoRA in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of students and teachers.
BIBD’s contribution yesterday signifies the bank’s commitment to being a partner in progress through its ongoing support of the government towards achieving key strategic initiatives that will benefit the nation as a whole.
