Boustead Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Suzuki automotive, officially launched the all-new Alto at the Suzuki Showroom in Gadong.

The first generation of Suzuki Alto made its debut in 1979 and has since seen a number of variations made throughout the years, but has always maintained its style, security and comfortable seats for the driver and passengers.

Boustead Sdn Bhd introduced the Alto 1.0 in 2010 which came in two variants – Automatic and Manual Transmissions. From 2010 to 2016, both variants created a significant impact to the industry with an average of more than 250 units sold per year. Alto 800 then came into the picture in 2014 and delivered another huge success for Boustead Sdn Bhd.

The all-new Alto – categorised in the small hatchback segment, has a five-speed manual transmission with an engine displacement of 800cc. Its fuel tank capacity of 35L makes for great fuel consumption at 22.05km/l, and the Alto’s F8D 0.8-litre engine combines sufficient torque with low fuel consumption.

A small, user-friendly and comfortable car, the Alto is suitable for daily commutes, and despite the engine’s small displacement, its high thermal efficiency uses an electronic throttle body that results in lively driving.

There are six different eye-catching exterior colours for the Alto that includes Uptown Red, White, Silky Silver Metallic, Granite Grey Metallic, Cerulean Blue Pearl Metallic and Mojito Green Pear Metallic, giving a variety of choices to suit the customer’s personality.

The all-new Alto’s innovative exterior design has been upgraded with more details, giving a fresh new look with its petal-shaped halogen headlamps and honeycomb design front bumper, as well as an appeal line on the side body to increase its outer look.

As safety is the top priority, a few features have also been enhanced to make sure the passengers are secure and safe on the road. The Alto is equipped with airbags and Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) that keeps tyres from locking up and increases stability to evasive manoeuvre.

For customers looking for an affordable vehicle, the new Alto is the perfect choice as it is hailed as the most affordable car in town. The small size helps its driver to manoeuvre easily in constricted spaces with its 1,490mm width and 1,475mm height.

In conjunction with the launching event, Boustead Sdn Bhd also organised an online competition titled ‘The Alto Guessing Challenge’ via their social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram, that began on June 23 to 30, where social media users were invited to participate in guessing the monthly instalment for the new model and submit their answers via private or direct message to Suzuki Brunei’s Facebook and Instagram.

The competition received an overwhelming response from the public with more than 150 guesses garnered within the seven-day period. Ten were chosen to win attractive prizes, where Shahrul’s guess won him the grand prize Xiaomi Redmi 8A mobile phone. Muhamad Danial Ashraf bin Muhammad Norulaswardi, Azoani binti Haji Awang, Shahrul PM and Sook Yee won the second to fifth place prizes in the form of an Under Armour Duffel Bag. Five other winners won the Suzuki Boot Organiser consolation prize.

The public is invited to drop by the Suzuki Showrooms in Beribi, Gadong and Kuala Belait to have a closer look and enquiries on the model.
