76 pints collected in two-day blood donation drive

A total of 46 pints of blood was collected on the final day of a blood donation campaign held at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.

Youth volunteers collaborated with the the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre to organise the two-day event, which collected a total of 76 pints.

Speaking to the Bulletin, Head of Operational Centre of Community Division of Youth Volunteer Mohammad Ashmeer s/o Imtiaz Ahmad said, “This is the second day of the fourth blood donation campaign, and Alhamdulillah we have received a good number of blood donors. We also received support from the government agencies, including the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF),” he added.

The youth volunteers expressed appreciation to all who came forward, especially the Berakas Police Station personnel led by Office-in-Charge Muhammad Alif bin Haji Musa. The four campaigns have seen over 300 donations across three districts.

Members of the public are welcome to join the blood donation campaign at the PKBN Training Centre in Temburong District from 9am to noon on July 21-22.
