A 30-year-old local man was sentenced to eight months in prison by the Bandar Magistrate’s Court after he was found guilty of stealing tyres and rims from a car parked behind a commercial building in Kampong Lambak Kanan.

According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), a report was received on the incident and investigations by the Berakas Police Station led to the arrest of unemployed Rusyduddin bin Ramli, who committed the crime on May 22.

He admitted to selling off all the items, which comprised a set of tyres with rims for BND150.

He was charged under Section 379, Chapter 22 of the Penal Code and was ordered to serve his sentence immediately.

In light of the case, the RBPF reminded the public to be vigilant and avoid parking their cars at dark places or away from public eye, as well as leaving valuable items in vehicles.
