Trade fair turns to virtual platform

Local businesses interested in purchasing the latest quality products from China can participate in the 127th session of Canton Fair that will be conducted virtually following the COVID-19 situation.

With the theme ‘An Online Trade Platform Breaking through the Restrictions in Time and Space’, the 127th session of Canton Fair will be held online from June 18 to 24.

According to a statement by the Chinese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, in adopting advanced information technology, the Canton Fair established an online exhibiting and matching platform on its official website. The platform will provide around-the-clock online services for product promotion, live streaming marketing, matchmaking, business negotiations and real time third-party activities display.

Some 25,000 exhibitors will showcase products on the platform in the corresponding sections according to category. Specific sections for exhibitors from impoverished areas of China are also provided.

The exhibition includes the National Pavilion and International Pavilion. There are 50 exhibition sections covering 16 major categories in the National Pavilion. Among them are electronics and household electrical appliances, lighting equipment, vehicles and spare parts, hardware and tools, machinery, building materials, chemical products, energy resources, consumer goods, gifts, textiles and garments, shoes, home decorations, office supplies, cases and bags, and recreation products, food, medicine, medical devices and health products.

The International Pavilion displays six major categories – electronics and household electrical appliances, building materials and hardware, machinery equipment, food and drink, household items, fabrics and home textiles.

By registering an account and logging in to the official website of the Canton Fair, the latest information and official announcements can be seen. The online calendar shows the live events including the opening ceremony, industry summit and new product launches. Subscribers will receive live stream reminders.

Purchasers can find specific exhibitors and exhibits through targetted search or intelligent matching, and watch the live streams of exhibitors to have a quick picture of the exhibitors and their showcase as well.

Purchasers can interact with exhibitors through instant messaging tools and live streams. Both parties can make an appointment for a video conference. The Canton Fair official website supports up to five million one-to-one, around-clock online negotiation rooms, making the dealing barrier free.
