The two-day thrift market organised by Green Brunei ended at the Hassanal Bolkiah
National Stadium yesterday. It began on June 20.

Legislative Council member and Green Brunei founder Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari said the proceeds from the thrift market will go to environment and mental health awareness.

“Green Brunei is planning to print out awareness posters on mental health and distribute them to schools based on how we raised from the event,” she said.

“It has been doing very well and we have been selling online for the past week. Alhamdulillah, the items that people donated to us are in good quality and valuable.

“We are very happy with the things people donated which can benefit others,” Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa said.

Visitor Wafiy said, “This is a spacious thrift market to ensure social distancing is practised because as far as I know, most thrift markets are in small spaces.”

On the last day of the event, the baju kurung and baju cara Melayu collected during the earlier charity drive were distributed for free to the public. They were able to choose and collect the items on a first-come-first-served basis.
