The Intermediate Court recently handed jail sentences to a trio who committed house-trespass for theft.

Muhammad Sophian bin Haji Adanan, 45, was sentenced to 16 months’ jail after he pleaded guilty on April 27 to the charge of trespassing into Kien Sing Workshop in Kampong Mentiri between November 8 and 9, 2019.

Meanwhile, Sharifulrizal bin Haji Sahari, 39, and Mohd Shahrulddin bin Mohd Sophian, 18, were convicted last June 15 after a trial on the same charge and each got a sentence of 18 months’ jail.

Judge Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Datu Juragan Laila Diraja Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Kefli found Deputy Public Prosecutors Ahmad Firdaus bin Mohammad and Sabrina binti Haji Mahmud to have proven their case against Sharifulrizal and Mohd Shahrulddin beyond the court’s reasonable doubt.

A co-accused was acquitted of the same charge as the court found that he was not directly involved in the offence, but only waited in the car they all travelled in.
