I was recently out with my sister when we decided to lunch at a nearby restaurant.
We followed the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH) by scanning our BruHealth codes before entering the premises.
But much to our surprise, all the employees were walking around without face masks.
When asked why they didn’t follow the mandate, which required all restaurant servers to wear face masks, one of the waitresses replied simply, “Our boss didn’t ask us to.”
Not only was the conduct in violation of the law, I was shocked by the lack of individual sense of responsibility from these servers.
The country is trying to contain COVID-19, and as citizens or residents, we should do our part in preventing unnecessary spread of the infection.
