The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) has announced a move towards the second phase of the de-escalation plan or Operational Readiness Level 2 for the existing four types of sports complexes and facilities which takes into effect tomorrow.
Under the Operational Readiness Level 2, the capacity permitted for all types of facilities has been updated while the existing conditions and guidelines are maintained as before.
The second phase will see an increased capacity to 60 per cent for gyms and fitness centres, indoor sports facilities and outdoor sports facilities at one time. This marked an increase from the initial 30 per cent capacity rate for the three types of sports facilities and complexes.
Additional capacity for golf has also been specified with four players allowed to be in one flight while a buggy vehicle is only allowed to accommodate one person at one time. Previously under the first phase, each flight is only limited to two people.
Users have been reminded to bring their own equipment as sharing is not allowed. Besides that, organised sports, team sports and sports which involve contact are not allowed.
Each user must also make an advanced booking and download the BruHealth application to scan their QR code and reserve the sports facility.
Owners of sports complexes and facilities must also maintain a reservation system and timetable to ensure the safety of users and staff.
The MCYS also reminded users and premise managers to continue practising current guidelines by the Ministry of Health (MoH) by maintaining good health; bringing their own hand sanitiser; maintaining a good personal hygiene and ensuring cleanliness of the surroundings of the facilities and equipment at all times.
