No one left in quarantine: Minister

Brunei has no one undergoing quarantine according to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) with all completing their quarantine period while 263 individuals are undergoing mandatory isolation at monitoring centres provided by the government.

The 263 individuals had arrived in the country after travelling overseas. Meanwhile, no new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country yesterday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar provided these details at the daily press conference yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, no new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141,” the minister said.

He said all contacts have undergone quarantine according to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) while 2,823 individuals have completed their quarantine.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said the 263 individuals undergoing mandatory isolation at the monitoring centres arrived in the country after travelling abroad while 2,515 individuals have completed their mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centres.

He said 56 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the past 24 hours bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 26,251. On the BruHealth app, the minister said 393,033 individuals have registered to the application while for companies and premises, 10,017 have registered.

A total of 5,459 have downloaded the PremiseScan application which included 4,116 business premises.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn reported 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
