No new COVID-19 cases recorded in Brunei

Brunei Darussalam’s total number of COVID-19 cases remains at 141 as no new cases were recorded yesterday.

As of yesterday, 17 individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) and 313 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres.

The latest COVID-19 situation in the country was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the press conference yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new case of COVID-19 infection in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141,” he said.

He added that 2,806 individuals have completed their quarantine and are in good condition. However, there are still 313 individuals undergoing mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres provided by the government for those who have just arrived in the country. A total of 2,419 individuals have completed their mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres.

In the past 24 hours, 331 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 25,931 tests.

Meanwhile, on the updates of registration for BruHealth app, the minister said, “Alhamdulillah, at this time a total of 389,056 individuals have registered for the application. In addition, a total of 9,647 companies and premises have registered for the BruHealth application.”

On the PremiseScan, a total of 5,020 business premises have downloaded the PremiseScan application. The minister also urged all premises to download the application to facilitate the QR code scanning, especially for those who do not have access to mobile phone devices to enter premises.

There are 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
