A roadblock operation by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) at the Muara-Tutong Highway on Tuesday night saw nine compound fines issued to drivers found in violation of the road and traffic regulations.

During the operation conducted by the Sengkurong Police Station led by its Commanding Officer P/ASP Abdul Hakim Ansyari bin Abdul Rahman, some of the violations included expired road tax, non-functional licence plate lights and using private vehicle for commercial use without proper licence.

Police said such operations are part of its strategy to detect road and traffic violations and in educating the public on road safety. It added that such operations will be conducted from time to time to maintain vigilance in combatting criminal activities and to ensure road users are obeying traffic regulations.
