More content for ‘Call of Duty’ fans

Game developer Infinity Ward recently released Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, bringing with it a wide array of new content for the highly popular title.

At launch, netizens were lamenting the monstrously large download file for Modern Warfare Season 4, so best make some room on your hard drive.

The outcry was so fierce that the term “84GB” was one of the highest trending in Twitter.

However, fans can rest assured that there is a downloadable content (DLC) pack management system which allows users to specifically uninstall any packs for modes that they don’t play. For instance, players can uninstall the campaign and ‘Spec Ops’ if they don’t use them.

A reason to look forward to the latest update is the return of the iconic character, Captain Price. He is the latest playable operator along with two new ones, Gaz and Roze, who are arriving later in the season.

Small, fun, and frenetic, the classic Scrapyard map is just as veterans remember

Also making its official debut this season is the classic Modern Warfare 2 map ‘Scrapyard’. This small map is just as fun and frenetic as veterans remember.

The abandoned airplane hulls in the central part of the map make an ideal spot for close quarters combat and even snipers can find success here.

Players tend to be on the move, so expect this map to get busy.

Meanwhile, Barakett Promenade is a ‘Ground War’ map unveiled during launch of the latest season and it will be a familiar territory for ‘Warzone’ players. For those who like ‘Ground War’ battles (32 versus 32), take advantage of building rooftops to add some verticality or come ready for close quarters combat and do a clean sweep of the interiors.

Those who prefer fast-paced battles can try the new ‘Gunfight ‘map called ‘Trench’, and as the name suggests, players bring the fight in long, narrow trenches.

Weapons with fast reflexes will definitely play a huge advantage but be wary those who prefer exiting the trenches to move quicker throughout the map. Deciding to do so will sacrifice their positions and should be wary of a face-off with marksman or sniper rifles.

Additional free content available as the season progresses include three new multiplayer modes, namely ‘Team Defender’; ‘One in the Chamber’; and ‘All or Nothing’.

In ‘Team Defender’, a single player must hold the flag while their teammates defend them.

Use communication, Intel, and powerful killstreaks to counter the opposition.

For ‘One in the Chamber’, a classic free-for-all party game, players start off with weapons and a single bullet. It only takes one shot to down an enemy, so make them count! Additional bullets are earned by getting kills or with a melee attack.

‘All or Nothing’ is another free-for-all mode in which players have limited armaments to take out their opponents – only a handgun and a throwing knife. Aim with precision and get the most kills to claim victory.

Just like every new season, new weapons have also been included in the new arsenal line-up, attainable by ranking up. Featuring first is the fast-firing SMG, Fennec (Tier15), also known as ‘Vector’. Its solid accuracy and excellent control makes this lightweight weapon ideal for close to medium ranged engagements. For extended range, equipped some barrel attachments with the ZLR 18″ Deadfall or the ZLR 16″ Apex.

Another is the CR-56 AMAX (Tier 31) assault rifle, which is extremely well-balanced with extra heat in the damage category to swiftly put down opponents. With great range and fire rate out of the box, players can kit out this weapon to increase its mobility, handling, and control to fit their playstyle.

Both weapons are available for free in ‘Season 4 Battle Pass’. Players can level up both of these new weapons in Gunsmith to find the best custom configurations for engagements in ‘Multiplayer’ or ‘Warzone’.
