Minister urges public to maintain physical distancing

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar urged the public to continue to carry out social distancing and take precautionary measures when visiting restaurants, shops, markets and grocery stores, during a press conference yesterday.

The minister highlighted the importance of physical distancing.

Business and restaurant owners are also advised to take precautionary measures to avoid overcrowding on premises.

“Alhamdulillah, 279,226 individuals have registered as users of the application in addition to 5,899 businesses and premises,” the minister added.

In the breakdown of businesses and premises registered for the BruHealth app, 1,527 are restaurants, 630 schools, 548 retail shops, 532 offices, 401 government premises, 263 food stalls, 172 gyms, 196 barber/salons, 54 car workshops, 51 shopping malls, 62 health centres and clinics, 45 recreational clubs, 26 places of interest, 24 supermarkets, 25 markets, 14 indoor playgrounds, 11 golf courses, 15 places of worship, seven cinemas, 206 hospitals, 208 takeaways, one petrol station and one ride sharing, eight buses and 769 others.
